By entering into an employment contract, the employee undertakes to perform a specific job, subject to a set work routine, and the employer to pay the agreed salary, ensuring safe and healthy working conditions.

The employment contract is concluded between the employer and the employee and employer (natural person) on taking up employment.

The employment is drafted on the basis of the Labour law in two languages – Latvian and English.

The working contract contains 6 pages (approximately 2000 words), the employment annex contains 5 pages (approximately 1752 words).

Description

An employment contract is a legal agreement between an employer (a natural/legal person) and an employee (a natural person). By concluding an employment contract, the employee and the employer enter into an employment relationship. At the time of conclusion of the contract, both the employee and the employer are assigned rights and obligations. The employee’s obligations include observing and fulfilling the requirements set out in the contract, the employer to pay the agreed wage to the employer and ensure healthy working conditions.

The Labour Law makes it compulsory to conclude a written contract of employment. If the employment contract is not concluded in writing it’s not valid, violation of the Labour Law resulting in administrative offences.

The employment contract and its annex are drafted in two languages, English and Latvian, in accordance with the requirements of the Labour Law. The agreement contains restrictions that protect the employer from sensitive, confidential disclosures to third parties.
